The KRAFTalm has been home to the Hölzl family for over 111 years. The alpine inn above the small village of Itter in the Brixental valley has always been known for its panoramic view of the valley and that of its hosts for human and nature. Four generations managed the alpine pastures, farm and inn. For two years now, the fifth generation, the sisters Marion and Evelyn, have been continuing the history of the KRAFTalm. "The future brings change" is the credo. With traditional values, at the original location, in a new form.
What has remained is the unobstructed view of the outstanding mountain world between the Kitzbühel Alps and Wilder Kaiser, the mountain freshness of meadows and alpine pastures and the hosts' attachment to the region, to nature and to their guests. "We have completely redesigned the structural concept and thus created a place of modern cosiness," says owner Marion Hölzl. From winter 2020/21, the KRAFTalm will have a total of 29 lovingly designed rooms, lofts and suites, a cosy spa area including an infinity panorama pool, seminar rooms, cosy Alpine parlours and a spacious sun terrace. "What gives our Boutique-Alm soul are our values, which we have been living for generations." This special energy can be felt on the KRAFTalm not only in the walls, floors and rooms, but also when you meet the Hölzl family.
The new culinary orientation bears the signature of Evelyn Hölzl. The 25-year-old combines her masterly skills, learned from some of the best chefs in Austria, with her passion for the pleasures of alpine cuisine. Down-to-earth, smart - Evelyn continues to develop traditional recipes from Austria and family secrets from Omi Greti and spices them with a touch of zeitgeist. Only selected ingredients are used for these recipes and, as far as possible, they come directly from the region. Traditional highlights and innovative dishes are served during the day, in the evening Evelyn creates a home-style dinner for the overnight guests.
It is something very special to make the first tracks in the fresh snow in the early morning. The KRAFTalm is an excellent starting point in one of the most extensive ski areas in the world, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental. From here you can reach 90 lifts and cable cars on 284 kilometres of slopes. The newly built 10-seater Salvista cable car takes its guests from the valley station in Itter directly to the KRAFTalm. From here, the best way to start is with a cosy mountain breakfast in the Boutique-Alm.
